Obituary of Carole A. Shippee

Carole A. Shippee, 83 of Columbia Street Ext. passed away peacefully on Saturday Oct. 16, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on Jan. 24, 1938 in Troy and was the daughter of the late Theodore “Ted” Sr. and Rose Brehm Hill.  She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy and was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth L. Shippee, who passed away on Feb. 4, 2020.  Carole had worked for New York State as a secretary in the office of Developmental Disabilities for many years and retired in 2002.  She enjoyed bowling in her league, going to her grandson’s baseball games and her granddaughter’s dance recitals, going to Yankee games, going to Eddy Day Break in Cohoes, and spending time with her friends.  She was a lifelong South Troy resident until moving to Cohoes in 2009. Carole was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in South Troy.

 

She is the devoted mother of Kimberly A. (James) La Bombard of Clifton Park, NY and Keith Shippee (Alicia Conde) of South Troy; sister of the late Theodore “Ted” Hill, Jr.; cherished grandmother of  Michaela and James La Bombard, Timothy, Danielle, and Natalie Conde; great grandmother of Amari, Zackary, Nickolas and Alani. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral will be held on Monday Oct. 25, 2021 at 9:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church in South Troy where the mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

 

Calling hours will be from 3-5 pm Sunday, Oct. 24th at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

 

Interment will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Northeastern NY Chapter, The Meadows, Suite 2, 140 Cty Highway 33 West, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
