Obituary of Cheryl Ann Camerota

Cheryl “Chery” Ann Camerota, 76, of Malta passed away peacefully on Friday June 16, 2023 at Evergreen Commons in E. Greenbush, NY. She was born on May 18, 1947 in Schenectady, NY and was the daughter of the late J. Roger and Sara Fredrick Putnam. She was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, class of 1964. Chery had been a school teacher for over 25 years, retiring from the Ballston Spa Middle School as an English teacher. She enjoyed gardening, being with horses and spending much time at her parent’s “Putnam Farm” in Clifton Park. She liked to travel, do cooking, baking, and most important to Chery, was time spent with her family and friends. She had been a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Ballston Spa.

She is the beloved mother of John M. Camerota of Stillwater, NY and Christine F. Chapman of Moraga, CA; her longtime companion and fiance Bill Bowen of Stillwater; sister of Daniel (Claudia) Putnam and Vicki Pompa; cherished grandmother of Henry Chapman, Liam Chapman, Mackenzie and Ryder McCrea; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday June 29^th in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Calling hours will be from 10-12 noon prior to the service in the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Clifton Park Center Baptist Cemetery, Clifton Park, NY.
