Obituary of Margaret R. Bell

Margaret R. Hurd Bell, 89, of Speigletown, beloved wife of the late Alfred A. Bell, entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Born in Redford, New York,  she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia Prespare Hurd.

Mrs. Bell was last employed in the Cafeteria at Knickerbacker Middle School in Lansinburgh and had previously been a “Floor Lady”/Supervisor at Standard Manufacturing in Lansingburgh for 30 years and prior to that at Stanley’s Department Store in downtown Troy.

She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.

Devoted and loving mother of Mary Ann (late, John) Rebel, Deborah (late, John) Bell-Grant, Jane (Chris) Danbury, Philip J. Bell, Sr., Michael A. (Missy) Bell and the late Alma Lasky who is survived by her husband Martin, the late Susan M. Bell and the late Allan A. Bell; sister of Anna Bell, Veronica Polaski, Bonnie Hurd and the late John Hurd, Gladys Cropsey, Mary Gannon and Virginia DiOrio; also survived by 15 cherished grandchildren, 18 adored great grandchildren, 2 dear great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the White-Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 58 Leversee Rd. (RT-40 in Speigletown) Troy, NY 12182.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours in the funeral home that morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be held in the St. John’s Cemetery, Troy.

Margaret’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to everyone at the Eddy Heritage House and to Community Hospice for their loving care and compassion provided.
