He loved lending a hand to all that asked, and left his indelible mark on many friends and Family with his skills-almost everyone in the Family has something in their home that he either built or fixed.
He really loved spending his Winters in Savannah and spending time with Family in the Summer months on the front porch of his 1860 farmhouse, famously known as the gathering place for all to come to enjoy the 4 o’clock wine time, with lively discussions of the day’s events and funny stories that made us laugh.
Known as James, Jim, Butchie, Grandpa, Grampy, or Mr. Higgins, he was the best husband, Father, Father-in-Law, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, favorite Uncle and friend of many.
